Cadence Calcuator

Open source utility for calculating cadence when analyzing videos

I love to analyse running videos of great runners. Cadence is one of the metrics I often look at during analysis. Most web based video players like Youtube have time resolution that is in Seconds, which makes it very hard to accurately measure cadence. So I have developed this simple utility using VB.NET.

Once you run the utility, you will see a single always on top window. You start hitting any key on the keyboard in sync with either left or right leg of the runner in video. It would take about 15-20 hits to normalize the cadence to acceptable an error level. You can also see and copy the last 10 measurements to clipboard easily. Here is the link to Github repo.
